Case studies

As part of our project, we’re pleased to say that we are inviting sites to apply to become a case study. Six successful sites will each receive a capital grant of £10,000 (inc. VAT) to make dementia friendly improvements to their outside space and to evaluate their outcomes.

Applications are invited from any park, green space or nature reserve of any size in England. Although we are limited to six case studies, we want to try and get a variety of different types and sizes, so all are welcome to apply.

What do you need to know?

Becoming a case study has certain responsibilities and requirements, and it’s important that you know what would be expected of you before you apply. Please make sure that you read the case study guidance document below.

Many questions are about your site to help us ensure that we include a range of different sites as case studies – link to application form (a Word copy will automatically download)
• Final draft of our environmental self-assessment tool – you are not required to assess your site at this stage, but you may find it useful to consult the tool when considering what changes you would like to make with the grant funding – link to the tool

How do you apply?

Applicants are encouraged to complete the online application form, which can be accessed via this link – link to online application form.

If you are unable to complete the online form, we will accept applications using the Word version of the form which is available above. Completed forms should be emailed to Jennifer Bray at j.bray@worc.ac.uk Please note that we are not able to enter into correspondence regarding applications.

**Applications open 1st September 2026 and will close 30th September 2026. We will not be able to accept applications received outside of these dates.**

What happens after applications close?

After the 30th September, all of the applications will be reviewed and shortlisted by members of the project team. The shortlist of applications will be shared with the project’s Steering Group in October, with discussions taking place to agree on the six successful case study sites. The successful sites will be contacted by the end of October to inform them of the decision and agree next steps.
