The full literature review and an executive summary version are provided below, and the following has been taken from the executive summary:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Access to parks, public green and blue spaces and nature reserves can make an important contribution to the health, wellbeing and quality of life of people living with dementia. Engagement with nature can support physical and psychological wellbeing, social connection, identity, meaningful activity and participation in community life. However, people living with dementia can experience multiple barriers to accessing and using outdoor environments, many of which arise from the way spaces are designed, managed and supported rather than from dementia itself. Using money raised by National Lottery players, The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK\u2019s heritage.&nbsp;Our project on \u2018Working towards creating dementia-friendly parks, outside spaces and nature reserves\u2019 is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
